Posted November 10, 2019 05:32:31The Blue Sapphire gin, also known as yogo sappa, is one of the most iconic gins of Japan and is famous for its unique color, rich taste and the fact that it’s not bottled.
“It’s been around for about 70 years and it’s a wonderful gin.
We are very proud of it,” says Toshio Yamamoto, founder of yogo sapphire, which was founded in 1894.
The Blue Sapphires are a member of the Japanese family of Sapphiras, the world’s oldest grape family.
The blue grape grows only in Japan.
“This is a very special grape, and we are really proud of that,” Yamamoto says.
The blue sapphires produce more than 60 varieties, and Yamamoto attributes their success to their high quality.
“We make the most expensive red sappha, and the most luxurious white sapphas.
They are not the most delicate of the blue saps, but they are very sweet.
I like to use the term ‘sweet-tart’ for it,” he says.
Yamamoto and his wife are also members of the Yogo Gin Club, which helps people celebrate the fall and anniversary of the gin.
The club holds events in Yokohama, Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolitan, Nagoya and Osaka.
“This is not just about the gins.
We also celebrate the Blue Sappharas anniversary,” Yamano says.
He says that the club also offers “a wonderful gong show” to mark the anniversary, and offers a chance for people to taste the different kinds of Blue Sapphi.
“Gin is like a magic trick.
You don’t know how to do it.
You just have to try it,” Yamada says.
